But being an ally requires more. Much more.    <br\/><br\/>Here&#8217;s what that means, concretely:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Listening, without appropriating<br\/>Lesbian experiences are specific. They are not simply about &#8220;being part of diversity.&#8221; They speak of love between women, misogyny, homophobia, fetishization, and erasure.  <br\/>Listen to us, don&#8217;t speak for us. Share the word, don&#8217;t steal it. <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don&#8217;t sexualize lesbians<br\/>If you fantasize about two women together but are offended when they kiss in public, you&#8217;re not an ally, you&#8217;re a voyeur.<br\/>Respect our bodies, our relationships, our autonomy.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Actively defend, even when it&#8217;s not &#8220;safe&#8221;<br\/>Being an ally means intervening when someone makes a homophobic joke. It means correcting sexist remarks. It means supporting a lesbian colleague in a hostile environment.<br\/>Not just when it&#8217;s easy. Especially when it&#8217;s uncomfortable.   <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Buy ethically and queerly<br\/>Want to support lesbians? Start by buying from brands created by us, for us. Like Lezzy.shop. We don&#8217;t engage in empty marketing.
